Rather than a firm Veto, America plans on talking the other members of the security council (many who have said they plan to back Palestine) into voting against it so the US doesn't look so bad to the international community. (heh)
However 131 nations now support the UN state-bid of Palestine, versus the 62 mostly western nations in opposition.
