What exactly is the purpose of the interfaith movement, as opposed to what the author calls dry comparative religion?
I understand the benefits of having religious extremists not trying to kill each other, and appreciate that america needs to be more understanding of Islam, but does this in a way take analytic thought out of our perception of the faiths?
Is it bad to scrutinize one faith compared to another, or to argue the merits of a persons belief? Being that we all have to live together in this American experiment, and faith effects law more than anything else, is a neutered acceptance of others faith equitable for all?
Should we not try to move past stone-age prejudices about the nature of reality? What do you think?
Are We There Yet? The Progress of the Interfaith Movement
Mystic Politics mission is to instigate debate on politics, religion, and science towards a more informed society. Our goals are increasing the authority of alternative media and citizen journalism- and to spotlight political corruption, government conspiracies, religion in politics, and the dichotomy of science and faith.
