Joel Osteen and the Lack of Argument Construction in Religious Moral Conversations

Is what is morally good commanded by God because it is morally good, or is it morally good because it is commanded by God?" ~Plato

Joel Osteen on that phone-hacker Piers Morgans show voiced his opposition to homosexual lifestyles, while being touted as a progressive christian. His reasoning? Historic Interpretation of an ancient scripture.

As most other literalisms of the bible are laughed out of philosophy class, these proponents of fallacious circular logic stick to stone-age hermeneutics and declare that, 'it's true because the bible says so'.

Might not Christianity be risking it's future by hunkering down in preliterate tradition? Are you a christian? What is your opinion on this?
