Is using a phrase like 'in god we trust' really meaningful without elucidating what god that is?
To the polytheists, some Buddhists, and the religion-less, the idea of a single pervasive all seeing god is foreign, and recoil from the thought of the theocratic implications of a government adopting such verbiage.
Does the 1st or 14th amendment forbid such terms from being governmentally leveraged? Does a weak nod at civil religion really even pacify anyone but the irrationally religious?
'In God We Trust': Choosing Faith Over Freedom

Mystic Politics mission is to instigate debate on politics, religion, and science towards a more informed society. Our goals are increasing the authority of alternative media and citizen journalism- and to spotlight political corruption, government conspiracies, religion in politics, and the dichotomy of science and faith.
