[News] We Are All Rupert Murdoch Now
Amidst the phone-hacking scandal and other instances of journalistic malfeasance it is all to easy to dismiss the casual degradation the medium at large is victim to.
While soft news has been a perennial favorite among the less cerebral populace, the press used to at least attempt to counteract it with relevant and pertinent, hard-hitting and investigative pieces, to fulfill the obligation of the 4th column of government and keep the people informed so as to make informed decisions.
Now we have to wade through pools of Kardashian marriage news and the tribulations of Ashton & Demi.
