One of the blind spots or weaknesses of the egalitarian and horizontal direct democracies of the #occupy protests is in the added difficulty reigning in hyperactive aggressors who turn to vandalism and violence out of frustration.
Of course one's mind goes immediately to agent provocateurs and other sorts sent in to draw media attention to controlled conflict within the protest, baiting the journos who follow the 'if it bleeds it leads' modality of media.
Are people who work outside the group egregore indeed part of the group? Are their actions to be attributed to the whole?
